Despite the late start of Turkish kiwi cultivation, in Turkey, new kiwi production is increasing every year with the increase in the number of orchards established and yielding. It ranks seventh in world kiwi production with approximately 64 thousand tons.

Especially high vitamin C content and for a healthy diet due to its low-calorie level is very important and therefore its production and consumption increasing year by year.
Turkey is the seventh country in the world in kiwi production. Turkish kiwi export volume has increased significantly in the last 3 years.

Turkey’s kiwi export was 4,783 tons in 2020. In 2021, Turkey’s kiwi export for the first 4 months is 5.185 tons. Turkey exports kiwi fruit, the most to Spain with 22.3% of approximately 1,155 tons, 18.1% is made to Russia with approximately 935 thousand kg.
Kiwi production in Turkey in 2020 is approximately 74 thousand tons. In the last five years in Turkey kiwi production, an increase of 67.8% was observed. 73,745 tons of kiwi production in 2020 is estimated that it will be 79 thousand tons in 2021 with an increase of 7%.
Turkish Kiwi Packaging
Packaging of kiwi is done in plastic boxes of 10 kg mostly in bulk. Kiwi is also packaged in carton or plastic boxes of 3-5 kg in trays.
Sizes are calibrated as 18-20-23-25-27-30-33-36-39-42 between 60 – 120 grs.
